This machining project was a new learning experience as I had to machine the infamous D2 tool steel. We aimed to replicate a go-no-go gauge through drawings provided by our client. After some research and tests, we were able to find good settings of speed and feeds that gave us good results. In total 2 parts were machined for each gauge and were press fit together at the end and finally welded together.
